In mid-October, David and I drove from Portland to Boulder, Colorado to attend the Alumnx Weekend for the 50th Anniversary of Naropa University. Naropa was founded in 1974 by Chogyam Trungpa, a Tibetan Buddhist teacher. In the mid-1980’s I attended the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics. As documented here on SubStack, in my piece, Memorial Day, in May of 1986, I escorted the poet Allen Ginsberg to meet up with the Great Peace March for Global Nuclear Disarmament. Here is a video of me talking about my time at Naropa and reading some poetry.
